"I hope the sage advice from experts and the stories from surviving spouses in the book will provide comfort and a plan of action."
About the Book
By combining real-life anecdotal experiences with practical information from experts, Pat Miles and Suzanne Watson have created an honest, inspiring guide to preparing women and couples for the emotional, practical and financial impact of losing a spouse or partner.
In Before All is Said and Done, Pat navigates the realities surrounding dying and widowhood in our culture. She reveals how her husband’s untimely death deeply affected every aspect of her life and parallels how other women have dealt with the grief, financial upsets and daily life changes that come with such painful loss. The authors balance those stories with practical advice from therapists as well as financial, legal and medical experts. Readers will appreciate this common sense guide to preparing for and dealing with one of life’s greatest challenges.

I have a friend who recently lost her husband after a very brief illness. I was trying to find something that would be helpful to her, and I found this book that apparently just came out. I ordered the paperback for her, and then ordered a digital copy for myself. I have read quite a bit of it, and it is well written and actually very informative, easy to read. I like to learn from other people's experiences and hopefully not repeat their mistakes so I appreciate the advice. I will always keep a copy of this book for myself or to give to someone else who needs it.

This book is so succinct and lays out the information so needed to know prior to death! I wasn’t sure it would apply to me, a single woman with no children, but everyone needs to have a will, as well as a medical Power of Attorney, and more than one financial Power of Attorney.
It helps family know what your wishes are and relieves their stress, loss, and grief."
